JDRF at PCK-8

On Tuesday, September 23, Christine Free, from Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, was at the K-8 to talk to our students about juvenile diabetes. Students learned how important good nutrition and physical activity are in the life of a child with juvenile diabetes, and how they can help prevent in the development of Type 2 diabetes. Students watched a video, listened to a story and did an awareness activity. This was the kick-off for a fundraiser to help find a cure for juvenile diabetes. Students who participate can earn prizes while helping JDRF and our school. We will recieve a donation of 10% of what students collect and that will go toward purchasing a climbing wall for our school.
